Analysis of Personality Trait of Juvenile Delinquents by MMPI


Abstract
The author performed MMPI on 279 delinquents at a juvenile classification home in order to clarify their personality trait and find out the individual and family factors related to their personality trait.
The results were summarized as follows:
1) Scores of lie, validity, correction, hypochondriasis, depression, psychopathic deviate, paranoia, psychasthenia, schizophrenia, hypomania and social introversion scale were statistically higher in juvenile delinquents than general male students.
2) Lie scale was related to birth district, home economy and home atmosphere.
3) Validity scale was related to parent concern, home economy and home atmosphere.
4) Correction scale was related to parent concern, home economy and home atmosphere.
4) Correction scale was related to birth district, father indifference, home economy and home atmosphere.
5) Hypochondiasis scale was related to home atmosphere. 6) Depression scale was related to mother indifference.
7) Psychopathic deviate scale was related to educational level, father indifference, home economy and home atmosphere.
8) Paranoia scale was related to educational level, father indifference, home economy and home atmosphere.
9) Psychasthenia scale was related to mother indifference, home economy and home atmosphere.
10) Schizophrenia scale was related to residential district, educational level, parent indifference, home economy and home atmosphere.
11) Paranoia scale was related to birth district and home atmosphere.
12) Social introversion scale was related to educational level, home economy and home atmosphere.
13) Any scale of MMPI was not related to blood type, birth order and parent bereavement.
